What is Paint Protection Film?
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a thermoplastic urethane film applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect the paint from stone chips, bug splatter, minor abrasions, and UV damage. It is virtually invisible and preserves the original paint underneath.
How Does PPF Work?
PPF is made from a multi-layer structure: a clear coat on top, an elastomeric polymer middle layer, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back. The elastomeric polymer gives it the ability to self-heal minor scratches when exposed to heat.
